Privacy Policy

When you connect your Shopify store to Upplyst, we collect:

• Store data: product titles, descriptions, attributes, and images from your Shopify catalog
• Business information: your store name, domain, and Shopify-provided metadata
• Account data: your Shopify store URL and session credentials required to access the Upplyst dashboard
• Usage data: which features you use, audit results, and rewrite history within the Upplyst platform
• Payment data: billing is handled entirely by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers or payment details

We use your data to:

• Audit your product listings for GEO (generative engine optimization) gaps
• Generate AI-optimized rewrites of your product content using Anthropic's Claude API
• Monitor your store's visibility in AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and others)
• Push approved rewrites back to your Shopify store when you choose to apply them
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Send transactional communications related to your account

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described below.

Upplyst uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic (Claude API): your product descriptions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate optimized content. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.
• Shopify: we access your store via Shopify's API under the permissions you grant during installation.
• Stripe: payment processing and subscription management. Stripe's privacy policy governs billing data.
• OpenAI / Perplexity: used to run AI visibility checks. Queries about your store are sent to these services; no customer data is included in those queries.

We retain your product data and rewrite history for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted credential storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time via our contact form. You may also disconnect Upplyst from your Shopify store at any time through your Shopify admin.

Upplyst is a business tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes via email. Continued use of Upplyst after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
