Terms of Service

Upplyst is a software-as-a-service tool that helps e-commerce merchants optimize their product content for AI search engines (generative engine optimization, or GEO). The service includes:

• GEO audits that score your product listings
• AI-generated rewrite suggestions for your product content
• Tools to review, approve, and publish rewrites to your Shopify store
• AI visibility monitoring (Growth plan and above)

Rewrites are drafts. Nothing is published to your store without your explicit approval. You review and apply each rewrite individually.

You must connect a valid Shopify store to use Upplyst. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of your business.

• Upplyst offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Starter and Growth). Paid plans are billed monthly in advance.
• Subscriptions automatically renew each month until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time from the billing settings in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused portions of a subscription period.
• We reserve the right to change plan pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

You retain ownership of your product content. By using Upplyst, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the purpose of providing the service — including sending product descriptions to our AI providers to generate rewrites.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated rewrites before publishing them to your store. You should not publish rewrites that are inaccurate, misleading, or that you have not verified.

Upplyst uses large language models (including Anthropic's Claude) to generate content suggestions. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or content that is not suitable for your store without review. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated rewrites.

We also make no guarantee that using Upplyst will improve your store's visibility in any specific AI engine, increase traffic, or generate revenue. GEO is an emerging field and results vary.

You agree not to:

• Use Upplyst to generate or publish false, misleading, or deceptive product descriptions
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Upplyst platform
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or Shopify's terms of service
• Resell or sublicense access to Upplyst

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Upplyst shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Upplyst, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

Upplyst is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the service poses a risk to us or other users. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and disconnecting Upplyst from your Shopify store.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of Upplyst after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
